South Carolina Welcome Centers

The South Carolina Welcome Center Program exists to increase travel expenditures and expand economic development within the state’s tourism industry.

Open 361 days a year, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the nine centers are located at key entry points along the state’s border and one strategically placed in the interior in Orangeburg County along I-95 southbound. The centers are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

Our staff of nationally-certified professionals serves as the front line to travelers — welcoming them with our award-winning customer service, providing the inside stories about South Carolina experiences, and enticing guests to make that extra stop, spend more money and stay longer.

The centers generate millions of dollars annually in additional travel revenue by simplifying the travel planning experience and offering complimentary services and proactive one-on-one marketing by our highly trained staff. The South Carolina Welcome Centers make complimentary accommodation and attraction reservations for travelers at no cost to our industry partners. The intent is to offer quality customer service and to “close the sale” in an effort to maximize tourism expenditures in the state. Tourism industry partners should contact the Welcome Center closest to them to find out how to participate and begin marketing to the millions of guests who visit the “front porches” of South Carolina each year.
