Otis W. Pickett, Ph.D.
Dr. Otis W. Pickett is a historian of religion in the U.S. South whose work examines race, slavery, and missionary activity in South Carolina. He is the author of Southern Shepherds, Savage Wolves and has served in teaching and leadership roles at the University of Mississippi, Mississippi College, and Clemson University, where he was appointed the institution’s third University Historian. Dr. Pickett is also a public historian, award-winning educator, and co-founder of the Prison to College Pipeline Program, advancing access to higher education for incarcerated students.
